Summer Memories
Hey Y'all! I can't believe that Summer is here.... Its beautiful! I sat on our back deck the other night with my thoughts and I saw one of my favorite summer bugs...... FIREFLIES! I smiled to myself and though, "Yep! Summer is finally here!" I remember as a little girl coming to Tennessee to visit my grandparents and being outside with my cousins, catching fireflies and putting them in jars... They fascinated me.... I remember helping my Mama and my Mama Cash make good old fashioned Sun Tea. I loved going outside in my barefeet and padding across the warm grass... Picking all the dandelions there were! Making wishes on the ones that had already succumbed to the end of their short lived lives. Then I loved to go sit under the tree in the shade... The grass was so much cooler there.... I loved to sit and think about my life as a little girl. And then to think of getting married one day... Having my own family... I was such a dreamer... HA! I still am.... I love summer... I also remember going to the creek with my family... and the first cool touch of the sometimes icey water... Brrrr! But I soon got over that... I remember taking watermelon's with us and placing it in a shallow like pool part of the creek to keep the watermelon icey cold until we were ready to cut into it. Then i remember as we all got tired and it started turning dark we'd build a fire and make S'more's! What fun.... I want that for my family some day... To be able to take You and Me days and just have fun... To enjoy spending time with your family.... As we kids get older those days are far and few between for my family.... There was a rare day a while back that we were all at home, so we went shooting. LOL! I know... Crazy right??? But we had so much fun.. We target shot with the hand guns, then we shot clay pigeons... Needless to say my arms were so sore days after. It was fun though.... And we made plenty of memories. Ha! Like how my Dad pushed in his clip on his glock and went to fire and the clip fell out of the bottom of the gun! HAHA! Oh that was a classic Cash Family Moment. Memories... Summer Memories... Cherish them... Because sometimes its those Moments that keep you goin....
